WELCOME AND FAREWELL DINNERS

The welcome dinner will be at Skyline Queenstown (at the top of the gondola) on Sunday evening (5-10 minute drive from Ramada), while the farewell dinner will be at Brazz Steakhouse on Friday evening (about 450m from the hotel). Map below:

EVENT APPAREL

Each player will receive an event jumper and cap as a souvenir of the tournament. These will be handed out in the Hotel Lobby prior to the welcome dinner.

GROUP PHOTO

A group photo will be taken prior to tee off on the Monday. This photo will be used in advertising and publicity materials for the tournament. You must wear your vest and beanie if you wish to join the group in the shot. The photo will be taken immediately after player briefing and before tee-off.

GOLF CLUB TRANSPORT DURING THE TOURNAMENT:

For the convenience of the players, golf club transport has been arranged for the duration of the tournament. Each player will be given a bag tag to affix to their golf bag (positioned on the front of the bag for ease of identification). Our ground operator requests to have all our golf bags to him before we head off to our Welcome Dinner.  So either Richard or Mick will be available to assist you from 4.30pm to leave your golf bag near reception and we will put it on the bus for you.  We will put an SGA Bag Tag on your golf bag at this time.

From this point on, golf bags will be placed on a bus and locked away each night, and will be ready for us on arrival at the golf course each day. So it is important at the close of each day’s play that you remove all valuables and required items from your golf bag (wallet, phone, room key etc.) as you will not be able to access it after it has been loaded onto the van after play each day.

GOLF GPS

If you haven't updated your GPS courses lately, be sure to do so, as Millbrook now has two full 18-hole courses (older units may show 3 loops of 9). Also, as usual, be sure to bring your charging cables. :)

WEDNESDAY GOLF

If you are playing golf via your own arrangements (i.e. NOT at THE HILLS) on the Wednesday Rest Day, please ensure that you keep your bag on Tuesday night after play. Similarly, it is your responsibility to ensure that you bring your clubs to the bus for Round 3 on Thursday morning.

CURRENCY:

The current exchange rate is roughly $1.09 NZD = $1 AUD. Most Australian bank/credit cards are acceptable in the ATM machines. If we are leaving for golf prior to 11am, it is advisable to exchange or withdraw money the night before to ensure you have enough to cover food, drinks and tips the following day.

MEDICAL & INSURANCE:

We strongly urge you to take out a comprehensive travel insurance policy for your time in New Zealand. If you don’t yet have travel insurance, please arrange it prior to departure to avoid any unforeseen expenses while in NZ.

Take with you any medications that you require and keep them in a separate container. Prescription medications should be in the original box/bottle with your name on it (if possible). There are chemists readily available, and all known brands of medications, pills, cures and preventatives are available and prescription medications can be prepared. The availability of your particular medication is not guaranteed. If you have any conditions that may cause you to become ill on the course or during the trip, let someone who you are playing with know about it, in the event that assistance may be readily available.

WEATHER:

November is generally chilly. Please bring any colder/wet weather gear accordingly.

MOBILE DATA AND ROAMING

Just to let you know that if you are a Telstra customer, you can pay to get an International Day Pass for $5/day in New Zealand. It covers all your calls, and a bit of data. You only get charged for a day if you use it. It can be activated under International Roaming in the MyTelstra App, or through your online account.

MANUAL SCORING

Since not everyone will have access to phone service in NZ, and with the chance that mobile reception will be sketchy in some areas, we have decided to use good-old-fashioned manual scorecards each day for scoring. You will need to score for your partner, and then check and sign the cards after each round, before submitting to us. Once we are back at the hotel, we will then manually upload the scores into Golf Genius, and update the Live Leaderboard each night for your viewing pleasure.

FREE TIME
Free days are yours to take tours around the local area or just relax.

SPONSORS: Thanks to all our event sponsors who have helped make the tournament possible, in particular our major sponsors Srixon, Garmin, MGI, The Card Network and Drummond Golf.
